Democracy and Multi-level Governance: AER is committed to strengthening regional democracy and advancing multi-level governance to effectively address Europe’s most urgent challenges. Our aim is to ensure that the insights and needs of different regions are taken into account and incorporated into the policy-making process, reflecting the diverse realities and aspirations of our regions and local communities. We seek to reinforce democratic principles and foster effective multi-level governance structures across Europe.
Economic, social and territorial cohesion: AER advocates for supporting regions to enhance their competitiveness and innovation while also reducing economic, social and territorial disparities both within and among regions. By championing streamlined regulations, sustainable development priorities and tailored approaches, we seek to promote cohesion and solidarity across Europe.
Place-based Climate Action and Innovation: The twin challenges of climate change and digital transformation present unprecedented opportunities for Europe’s regions. AER is at the forefront of efforts to ensure that these transitions are sustainable, fair, inclusive and regionally driven. We are defining common visions and strategies, empowering regions to adopt innovative solutions and contribute to Europe’s climate objectives.
Inclusive and Well-being Societies: AER works towards fostering inclusive and well-being societies, actively striving to enhance the quality of life for all Europeans. Youth Empowerment: AER is dedicated to empowering youth to become catalysts for prosperous, democratic, inclusive and resilient communities. The Future of Europe: Collaboration lies at the core of AER’s mission, where we facilitate cooperation between our Ukrainian and other European members to forge connections between businesses and communities. With a focus on strengthening ties between regional actors, we unite them to offer mutual support in addressing the practical needs of regional businesses and institutions.
